What is a translation?
The Quran was revealed in Arabic. An English or Spanish translation communicates a translator's understanding of its meanings, allowing readers to engage with the text in a familiar language. Notes and commentary can help explain words, historical setting, and passages that raise questions.
While you wait
Start with our introduction to the Quran, or read the opening chapter on Quran.com. Keep a note of anything you would like to discuss. You are welcome to ask about a verse, compare translations, or talk through the wider context.
